About

I’m a wife and the mother of two dog and two cats, all spoiled to the point of being completely useless.

We live on a beautiful acre of land in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and Brushy Mountains in North Carolina. We started calling it Bubby Brook Farm, named after our first dog. There is a brook running through our front yard which we think is cool.
I have a blog because I like telling stories and talking about things. My favorite topics are the Bible, marriage, food, and my pets, but I will probably veer off into other subjects from time to time.

About - Marriage Category

This is for Christian women who are willing to take a serious look at what the Bible says about marriage and apply it to their lives. I’ve been doing this since 1999, and have been amazed at the miraculous results that come with laying down your life for your husband. It is a long road, painful and lonely at times, but so worth it!In the process of letting God change me, instead of worrying about changing my husband, he gently molded my heart and helped me to see and deal with my own sin. The standards God sets up for us are higher than our own. In order to really create change in my marriage, I had to go beyond just being a good wife. I had to become a Christ-like wife.

That does not mean I do not make mistakes every single day. But I know where to go for more strength when I get weak, and I know how to keep turning my eyes back to Jesus’ example of humility and self sacrifice.

I encourage you to take a look at these principles and leave comments, questions and your own insights. The Word says that we should “teach the younger women how to love their husbands.” That means we are to teach the new brides, while at the same time continuing to learn from those older and wiser than us. And isn’t that one of the things we do best as women - Help and encourage each other?

A word of caution for posters: Please realize that this is a public blog and any comments you make may become searchable by the entire world (that includes your husband), so please don’t say anything that you would not want the whole world to read.

Blessings,
